Please click on the sub-section links to the left for more information on comparing New York State prescription drug plans

  • Plan Coverage of Selected Drugs contains specific information on almost 500 of the most commonly used medications. Organized as a single page for each medication, the types of coverage and the costs of the medications within each coverage zone for that drug in all of the plans across New York State are listed on these tables. Along with the cost of the plan premium, one can view the cost of a given medication under any plan circumstance.

  • Plan Choices with Selected Medication Regimens contains hypothetical sample medication regimens based on distinct medical conditions. The regimens contained within are not recommendations of therapy but might represent a given set of medications a patient may take with a similar illness. Using these sample sets, a person is able to see a comparison of potential cost savings over a year of expenditures.
  • Insurance Plan Comparisons contains specific information regarding the unique characteristics of each of the 55 stand alone prescription drug plans being offered across New York State in 2008. Information such as the number of people in the state who chose this plan in 2006 and customer satisfaction rates (for plans that existed in 2006 and 2007 as well as 2008) is included.
